Derek Mundy
has been involved in the production of Model Semaphore Railway Signals since
the 1970’s. As the original proprietor of Model Signal Engineering, he was
responsible for the production and marketing of a wide variety of components
in all scales from 10mm ft down to 2mm ft and for the writing of the booklet,
Signals for the Railway Modeller, which sold over 7000 copies and is now out
of print. The business was sold to Andrew Hartshorne in 1998 and now trades
under Wizard Models. Since that time, Derek has been demonstrating the construction
of signals, mostly in 7mm ft scale, which is his chosen modelling size for
his Welsh layouts. Signals are built on commission too, for those who find
themselves unable to undertake such a challenge! This weekend is an opportunity
for Derek to meet modellers from South Wales, and in particular, Cardiff,
where he was born and has lived at various times during his life. If you are
